"Heart Rhythm Meditation as developed by iamHeart.org, is one of many forms of meditation available in the world. iamHeart’s method is a collection of embodied practices that build resiliency and improve our physical, mental, and emotional health. When you practice Heart Rhythm Meditation daily, you will experience reduced blood pressure, improved immune response, increased lung capacity, better sleep, and an increased ability to regulate your emotions to feel calm and peaceful.

Our fast paced, stress filled lives impact the natural rhythms of our heart, breath and physical systems of our body. Our body is like an out of tune guitar which can no longer produce the chords required to play beautiful music. Our body rhythms are no longer in harmony with each other, which negatively impacts our mental, emotional and energetic wellbeing.

So, what can we do? Well, when a guitar is out of tune, we intervene by using the tuning pegs to adjust the vibration frequencies of the individual strings. We start with adjusting the E string to the proper frequency then we adjust the rest relative to the first to achieve harmonious interaction of all the strings. In Heart Rhythm Meditation we can intervene to create the internal harmony we desire. We connect to our heart and its rhythm, which we tune with the rhythm and quality of our breathing. We then use our breath and heart rhythm as our reference combined with other techniques to connect with and tune our internal systems."

Heart Rhythm Meditation is the practice of breathing fully and coordinating the breath with your heartbeat. The goal of this practice is to increase awareness of our body, mind, and heart.

First, we learn to sit in a posture that promotes our capacity to fully breathe, be relaxed, and be aware of our heartbeat and body.

Second, we learn how to breathe fully. We do this by first become conscious of our breath and then we learn to inhale and exhale fully using our abdominal muscles.

Third, we learn to make our breath rhythmic – balancing breath intake and exhalation. We do this to the rhythm of our heartbeat

In addition, to 40 years of experience in the field of engineering, management, and leadership development, her formal education includes:

Bachelors and Masters degrees in mechanical engineering as well as two Masters and a PhD in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute.

She lives with her amazing husband Gary on 20 acres of California oak woodlands and wildlife. Narandja offers services in Croatian and English.
