Embodied Imagination®
“Chaos, like the id and the unconscious, is an abstraction, a concept about the material, not the material itself, which may appear as an ocean, an abyss, a mudslide, a carnival, a bit of jelly, a madhouse – but always, always as a precise image.” – James Hillman
Do you want to learn a method that provides a tool to discover the doors to the unknown in a deep enough way for you to create desired change in your life and thrive? Do you want to learn a method thoroughly enough that you are ready to work with others independently after the training and assist them in the same endeavor? Do you wish to explore the doors of opportunity inside dreams, memories, and the pull toward creative projects?
Embodied Imagination® method is a modern-day adaptation of dream work practices of the Asklepian healing sanctuaries in ancient Greece. The method draws from a broad set of disciplines that include alchemy, ancient incubation practices, active imagination as developed by C. G. Jung, different acting techniques, phenomenology, complexity theory, neuroscience, and depth psychology. The EI method, developed by the Jungian therapist and well-known author, Robert Bosnak, has roots in the work of ancient alchemists and well-known pioneers of depth psychology C. G. Jung and James Hillman, philosophers Maurice Merleau-Ponty and Henry Corbin, and others. Triple Tie offers EI in both one-on-one sessions and through online certification programs.
Individual Sessions
Brief & In-Depth Sessions
A ‘Brief and In-Depth’ session is based on an approach developed by Jill Fisher, based on the early analytic work of Carl Jung. For a series of eight to ten consecutive sessions the EI practitioner and the client meet to explore a particularly difficult core issue. This process is done to engage the intelligence inherent in the dream images and their associated bodily responses to help illuminate the client’s situation and bring new insights. This process allows previously unconscious points of view from the unconscious to provide guidance and insight to the client. We use the term ‘Brief and In-Depth’ here as opposed to ‘Brief and In-Depth Analysis’ to distinguish that the EI practitioners at Triple Tie vary and are not exclusively from a therapeutic background, however, all are fully certified in the technique. Getting the Courage to Change
The Embodied Imagination method uses dreaming as a paradigm for working with images. In dreams we are fully engaged in whatever is transpiring. In dreams we do not control our actions or the actions of others: we are imaginative in the true sense of the word. In dreams we meet a quasi-physical world populated by embodied presences. After leaving the imaginal reality, we remember that world through our senses, our bodies.
Imagination continually creates our realities. Imagination consciously embodied – made present in our bodies – is what provides the catalyzing ingredients to move us forward with our projects of deep intention. Our basic view is that creative imagination of dream time reality will intervene in shifting our habitual patterns of thought, behavior, and belief systems through embodiment of the images. Embodiment of the images shifts and rearranges the balance of status quo and in that way, opens one up for meaningful change. An image is not merely a picture, it is a presence, with its own intention and volition. It is our job to meet that presence in its own environment and on its own terms. Paraphrasing James Hillman, our deepest intention is to treat these images/presences as an honored guest in our home.
Embodied Imagination requires each of us to be ready to look for change, to meet the change, and to work for it. Working with EI confronts our most treasured and cherished assumptions about our realities and can therefore, at times, be very challenging. Commitment and holding onto the individual intention for this training is necessary to move through vulnerabilities and the unique risks that come with change.
Basic Course

Advanced Course
Instructors: Narandja & Pelle
Do you want to solidify and expand your Embodied Imagination (EI®) skills deeply enough to feel secure and self-sufficient so to become both a powerful Dream Worker and powerful teacher? Do you want to move and expand the use of the EI® method further and deeper into the arts, business, healthcare, research, social, and ecological systems so to impact the trajectory of the future of the society?
If you answered yes to these two questions, then the 18-month Advance EI® training is for you. Our only goal for you is to strengthen, deepen, and broaden the skills you began to develop during the Basic EI® training well enough to feel secure to use the ISEI trademark to train others in EI® and to make it your craft in the work you do in the world. This goal is accomplished through practice with cohort peers and clients, teaching EI® method to others, supervision, and application of the method on projects of importance while being mentored by the instructors and supported and reinforced by your cohort peers.

Reality is terrifying to the point of being unbearable. It takes a compassionate eye of ruthless clarify for the awful reality of life – as it is lived in the realm between living and dying, to allow the process of pressurizing the poison in the bottle until it transforms into remedy.”
- Robert Bosnak
